Case study
Touchscreen data logger
ESP32-S3 logger for 4.3 inch and 7 inch panels. It takes temperature and pressure over serial and BLE, stores the log, and can print or plot it.

The problem
A logger that only speaks serial is hard to use on a factory floor. The same firmware family had to drive a 4.3 inch panel and a 7 inch panel, take input on the glass, and keep a log someone could plot later.
What I built
Private firmware around the ESP32-8048S043, using LovyanGFX and LVGL, with the screens laid out in SquareLine. There is a 4.3 inch build and a 7 inch build.
The logger talks to the machine over serial and over BLE. It records temperature and pressure into a SQLite database on an SD card. A thermal printer can produce a log on the spot. The UI can show the history and plot temperature and pressure over time. Device licensing is part of the firmware, so a unit can be authorised before it is used.
The client and product name stay off this page. This is a different display stack from the Addify STM32 printer UI.
